Technology is consistently changing and evolving and as a result I’m always interested to determine what is going to be of use and practical for me in the New Year. There are so many new products and gadgets showing up on the scene but in amongst a lot of gimmicks there can be some genuine technological nuggets.
I am going to attempt to pick just two pieces of very current technology that will undoubtedly perform an important role for me in the New Year ahead.
1. My initial choice is IPTV. IPTV has been playing an increasingly crucial role in lots of areas of our day to day lives, often without us even recognising that we are witnessing IPTV technological innovation. With the advent of smart TV’s, this technology is now arriving in our residences with all the extravagant and appealing choices it comes packed with. Perhaps you may already be aware that this technology is at the centre of products such as the BBC’s online iPlayer but luckily you can now have the identical state-of-the-art facilities inside your lounge.
Smart TV’s are a combination of a sophisticated home PC and a high specification tv. You can stream your preferred films straight to your lounge, so no longer will you be needing to stress about returning DVDs to the rental store. You can also surf the net from your Television Set and even run numerous apps in the same manner we have grown to be accustomed to on our smart phones. This is the excellent combination of the many things that are important within our modern day lives into just one convenient, smart bundle.
2. The other item of increasingly widely used technology that I really enjoy is a mobile repeater system. A mobile repeater is quite simply a product to enhance the signal and therefore the reception of cellular phones in weak reception areas. These poor areas could be office developments with thick concrete walls, basement workplaces, properties with a lot of steel beams or just the hassle of a very rural location. Mobile repeaters work just like a TV antenna as they give amplification to the cellular signal, therefore delivering mobile coverage exactly where it otherwise had not been possible. As you can imagine it is vital for many organisations to provide their staff members with a respectable cellular signal and therefore this technology is increasingly in demand.
It is certainly quite hard to only pick two pieces of existing technology that will have a serious impact over the coming year but for me the 2 above are my present favourites. Now I’m off to surf the web on my Television Set!
